The Spotlight Hits the League of Legends TCG
Riot Games has officially scheduled the worldwide retail launch for Riftbound: Radiance (Set 5) for Friday 23 October 2026. Carrying the official tagline 'Own the Stage. The World is Watching', this 180-card expansion serves as the capstone release of the 2026 season, introducing nine new champion Legends, a brand-new Ultimate Rare card tier, and the debut of the Recruit mechanic.
Before boxes hit store shelves worldwide, local players across Thanet, Ramsgate, Margate, and Broadstairs can take to the stage early. We are hosting our official in-store Pre-Rift tournament on Monday 19 October at our Manston tables.
Pre-Rift Tournament: Monday 19 October
Our previous Pre-Rift events and Bank Holiday Nexus Nights for Vendetta established an active community of Riftbound players in East Kent. Radiance continues that momentum with a dedicated, champion-led sealed experience.
Radiance Pre-Rift Event Dossier
Here are the full operational details for our Monday evening flight at Spratling Court:
How Champion Sealed Works
Rather than starting with an open, unstructured card pool, each player kit contains a 15-card mini-preconstructed deck based around one of nine champion Legends, supplied with the exact basic runes that champion requires.
You unwrap your five Radiance booster packs, integrate synergetic units and spells directly into your assigned champion's strategy, and compete across structured Swiss pairings. Every player walking through the door also takes home an exclusive Pre-Rift stamped promo card.
Radiance Card Reveals: Champions & Mechanics
Riot has confirmed that Radiance features nine new champion Legends in total. Previews from Regional Qualifier Los Angeles and the official card gallery have unveiled several marquee champions and units heading to the table:
Ekko • Boy Who Shattered Time
A Fury/Mind Legend built around high-risk tempo. Disempower Ekko and exhaust him to reduce the cost of your next played unit by 2 energy and 1 power, sacrificing that unit at end of turn.
Ekko • Ingenious
A 3-cost, 4-Might Champion Unit. His Ganking keyword allows him to move freely between battlefields, returning friendly units to hand to replay their entrance abilities.
Seraphine • Not Alone
A 5-cost Champion Unit that introduces the Recruit keyword. Whenever she enters play or becomes exhausted, you summon a 1 Might Recruit token to your base, gaining +1 Might for each other exhausted unit you control.
Seraphine • Starry-Eyed Songstress
A spell-focused Legend. As an additional cost to cast a spell, exhaust Seraphine and three friendly units to discount the spell's cost by 2, turning token swarms into rapid mana acceleration.
Neeko • Blending In
A 6-cost, 4-Might Champion Unit from Ixtal. As a neutral card, she slots into any domain. When building your deck, you choose three extra legends; playing Neeko adds one of them to your Legend Zone while she remains on board.
Radiance Booster Pack
Each pack contains 7 commons, 3 uncommons, 2 rare-or-higher foils, 1 random foil, and 1 token. Collectors will find 66 Showcase variants and the brand-new Ultimate Rare tier.
What Makes Riftbound Different?
If you are considering trying Riftbound from traditional card games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, or Yu-Gi-Oh!, Riot Games has built a tabletop system that mirrors the lane duels and objective pressure of League of Legends:
Lane Duels & Positioning
Combat is not fought along a single line. Units deploy across distinct contested battlefields, battling for territory, securing objectives, and using keywords like Ganking to reposition into fights.
Zero Resource Starvation
Riftbound eliminates random land or energy draws. Your rune deck supplies predictable resources every round, ensuring matches hinge on tactical timing, ability chains, and combat maths rather than drawing the wrong colour.
Ready-to-Play Showdowns
Showdown Decks supply two complete 56-card pre-constructed lists in one box. Two players can sit down, learn champion synergies, and play balanced games without needing to build from loose packs.
New to the Game? Play in a Welcoming Community
If you are curious about Riftbound but feel unsure about learning a new system, there is no need to worry. Our shop is built to be your home away from home. Our local community is relaxed, welcoming, and always happy to lend decks or teach the mechanics during our free lunchtime sessions or casual evening meetups. Whether you want to drop by for a friendly teaching match, ask questions in our Discord server, or pull up a chair for the Monday 19 October Pre-Rift event, you will find a warm room with zero tournament pressure.
Upcoming Radiance Products: Arriving 23 October
